One Thousand Fish In Five Days!

I went vacation with my family at cape cod for July 4th week. I fished five days.. I was planned to catch 50 fish daily. But BIG NO NO> fish was thick around the jetty and I banged two fish every cast!! Sometimes one due to fish pulled off from hook. But I didn't do it for one day, it was on fire for five days! my parent was sitting on beach and I asked my mom to count my catch until I give up.

Day one - Caught 200 fish! mixed with northern kingfish, bluefish, scup, sea robins, and flounders. It was only took me two hour and half to get that number. I didn't knew that until my mom called me that she wanted to informed me that I got 200 fish already!

Day two - I told my mom to let me know when I reached 200 fish again. before I asked my mom again, she said I have 178 fish already. I took break and jumped off jetty to swim for couple of minutes. then go back to fishing again and proceed to my last 22 fish in three hours.

Day three - I told my parent that I want a speedy fishing. So, I didn't waste or haste to wait for fish to bite. they ATTACKED it when hook just landed on bottom. Caught 200 fish in one hour and 37 minutes! Image that!!! Can anyone top it???

Day four - I tried to do same thing as yesterday but big no no... its took me 2 hours and 40 minutes to finish it with 200 fish.

Day five - Same result as day four. bummer... but same number of fish caught.

In other note, I was planned to fish again on day six but Bassturds texted me to go striper fishing at monomoy island. I couldn't say no to that! So we went there. Unfortunately, waves took best of us so we stayed nearby beach. we tried to fish for anything that bites. Bassturds caught flounder and sea robin while I couldn't get any bites.

will not post pictures on here. If you want me to post pictures, then I will. Just let me know.

  • Johnny, how about having the aerobics class on the banks of the Charles River while catching 100k fish? I think we could do it!

  • haha pssh! You might! I'm surely dont want that!

In other note, I always get stripers every year. So, at exactly spot where I fished, there is no striper around there. due to warm water. Lot of dusky sharks and brown shark that being caught on shore or jetty. Last year, saw someone caught 6 footer brown shark... pretty awesome. (I personally haven't land that big shark on shore yet. only dogfish that reach 4 footer.)

  • I bet you would have caught a striper if you brought your mom along!

  • pocketfisherman - actually, someone can top that if they continue fishing more hours than I am. they are definitely still there! it was unlike past couple of years...

  • Bloomagoo - Haha yeah, it was during December to April. Not my strongest period of fishing. July-October is when I am on unstoppable streak.

Angler21 - Yeah, just wait and see when Comm striper bass season opener soon! After week, I'll post the picture of my thumb. haha
