The Crooked River is a tributary of the Missouri River, about 60 mi (95 km) long, in west-central Missouri in the United States. The Crooked River rises east of Lathrop in southeastern Clinton County and flows generally southeastwardly through Caldwell and Ray Counties. In southwestern Ray County it collects short east and west forks and flows into the Missouri River, about 4 mi (6 km) south of Hardin. There are no known commercial campgrounds located along Crooked Creek. Abundant natural, primitive campsites can be found all along the river, though many are on private land - always obtain permission prior to camping there. Thousand Hills State Park, located west of Kirksville between SH 6 and SH 11, offers excellent camping facilities with amenities.
The Crooked River is a tributary of the Missouri River, about 60 mi (95 km) long, in west-central Missouri in the United States. The river was the site of the Battle of Crooked River during the Mormon War of 1838. According to the Geographic Names Information System, the stream has also been known historically as "Big Creek," "Little River" and "Tiger River."
